📏 Flooring Calculator
Estimate how many boxes of vinyl planks, laminate flooring, or hardwood flooring you need based on room size and product coverage.
Estimate how many boxes of flooring you need before purchasing materials.
Step 1: Calculate Room Size
Room Length × Room Width = Room Size (sq ft)
Example:
12 ft × 15 ft = 180 sq ft
Step 2: Calculate Boxes Needed
Room Size ÷ Coverage Per Box = Boxes Needed
Example:
180 sq ft ÷ 27 sq ft per box = 6.67 boxes
Step 3: Round Up
You cannot buy part of a box.
6.67 boxes = 7 boxes needed
Recommended
Add 10% extra for cuts, mistakes, and waste.
180 sq ft + 18 sq ft = 198 sq ft
198 ÷ 27 = 7.33 boxes
Result
✅ Minimum Purchase: 7 boxes
✅ Recommended Purchase: 8 boxes
🧱 Drywall Calculator
Calculate how many drywall sheets you need for your room walls.
Example
Room Length = 12 ft
Room Width = 15 ft
Room Height = 8 ft
Wall Area
(12 × 8 × 2) + (15 × 8 × 2)
= 432 sq ft
Drywall Sheets Needed
432 ÷ 32
= 13.5 sheets
Round Up
✅ 14 sheets needed

HOW TO CALCULATE
Step 1:
Measure the length, width, and wall height of your room.
Step 2:
Multiply the length by the wall height and multiply by 2.
Step 3:
Multiply the width by the wall height and multiply by 2.
Step 4:
Add the two totals together.
Formula:
(Length × Height × 2) + (Width × Height × 2)
Step 5:
Multiply the total wall area by the number of coats.
Step 6:
Divide the result by 350.
Most paint covers approximately 350 square feet per gallon.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
EXAMPLE
Room Length = 12 ft
Room Width = 15 ft
Wall Height = 8 ft
Coats = 2
Calculation:
(12 × 8 × 2) = 192 sq ft
(15 × 8 × 2) = 240 sq ft
Total Wall Area = 432 sq ft
432 × 2 coats = 864 sq ft
864 ÷ 350 = 2.47 gallons
Result:
Recommended Purchase = 3 Gallons of Paint

NOTE
Always round up to the next full gallon.
